Details
The bracelets are handmade in Amsterdam, using ship rope. They are meant to last a lifetime and the color will not fade over time.
It was for protection, and out of superstition, that Dutch sailors tattooed themselves with a pig and a rooster on their feet. The pig and the rooster are symbols for sailors of survival on the high seas. In the event of a shipwreck, only the pig and the rooster survived because they were transported in wooden boxes which floated and were deposited on the beaches.
