It's a stand-alone bulb, because it doesn't need to be attached to a lamp!
With no power cord, it's rechargeable and portable. It pays homage to Edison's light bulb. Over 100 small LEDs were needed to recreate the look and feel of the traditional incandescent filament of the classic light bulb.
Powered by an internal battery, it lasts for 5 hours on a 1.5-hour charge.

Note: this bulb cannot (even accidentally) be screwed into a mains powered luminaire, it has been specially designed to be slightly too large to fit.
