Halloween is coming: how do you carve a great pumpkin?

Today we're going to tell you how to make a great pumpkin for Halloween!

Choose a pumpkin of the right size, depending on the design you want to carve.

Prepare a work area by covering the surface with newspaper or a cloth to make cleaning easier.

Use a sturdy knife to cut a circular lid on the top of the pumpkin. Make sure you cut at an inward angle to prevent the lid from falling inside.

Remove the seeds and pulp from the pumpkin using a spoon or ice-cream scoop. Set them aside if you plan to plant the seeds for future pumpkins and the flesh for delicious recipes (we'll give you some recipes below!).

Using a washable marker or felt-tip pen, draw your cutting pattern on the outside of the pumpkin. It's best to do it this way, as your cut-out will be neater and less approximate.

Use a small knife or chop saw to cut slowly along the lines of your design. Be sure to work slowly and carefully to avoid injury. As the flesh is very firm, it's not that simple

Gently remove the cut pumpkin pieces to reveal your design.

For an added effect, place a tea light inside the pumpkin or use an LED light to illuminate your sculpture.

What to do with the flesh?

Eat it, of course! Not everyone enjoys the taste of pumpkin, but these days no one dares throw away food at the cost. All you have to do is adopt the recipe that suits you best. If you're a fan, it's all delicious: soup, purée, stew! But if you're not a fan of pumpkin, then some recipes are for you!

Personally, all winter long I replace the potato in my soups with pumpkin cubes that I've frozen beforehand. This is done without adding too much flavour (because the quantity is so small). No waste, I use the flesh of my pumpkins all winter and my soups are lower in calories but with a great texture! You can also make a delicious pumpkin bread, a bit like carrot cake. The pumpkin adds a superb texture but no real flavour. Do a blind test with your family, will they be able to taste the pumpkin?

If you're like me and love pumpkins for their beautiful orange colour, then here's a selection of 'Orange is the new black'!

The ultimate autumn colour! Special mention to the Ice Digit Ultra Orange S watch from Ice Watch. This watch is equipped with practical functions to meet your everyday needs. The stopwatch lets you measure time accurately, whether for your sports sessions or to challenge yourself on a daily basis. And with its alarm, you can be sure you'll never miss an important appointment.

To keep your little monsters occupied on Halloween night, here's the Ghost Night Smart Game!

What are ghosts afraid of? Light, of course! The "Night of the Ghosts" game is a logic game: with each challenge (in the booklet), the child (aged 5 and over) moves the 4 transparent pieces until all the ghosts are in the light.

And for the grown-ups, here's the incredible giant Vampire poster and stickers! The colouring book that scares the hell out of you... Ghosts, secret ceremonies and bloodthirsty vampires invite you to spend a night in an amazing haunted castle. With its funny lines and details, this poster is a bloody experience.
