If you're from my generation, you may have heard of Club Dorothée on TV, and so you may have heard this song that's currently stuck in my head, "Ma valise". Here's the link, it's a gift :o) I'm in the process of packing my suitcase myself, and I wanted to share with you my thoughts on holiday entertainment. What games should we take with us this summer?
Outdoor and beach games
If you're lucky enough to be on the move this summer, don't forget to take part in a few activities, so you don't just get to play pancakes in the sun... A game of pétanque will delight your family and friends! Traditional with the practical, space-saving set from Kikkerland, or original and flexible with the blue and red Pack Cuir Recyclé petanque balls from La Mariole. Either way, you'll be well equipped!
If you're going to buy a ball, let's be eco-responsible with the super Rebond football from Omy. Its bladder is made from 100% latex from eco-managed forests, designed and manufactured in France.
And if, like me, you're a fan of yoga, take your mat with you - there's nothing like a sunbath by the sea. An absolute dream!
We still have a few beach items from Legami, including some superb inflatable mattresses and the Coco Bello racket set.
Creative leisure activities
We all have that memory of a rainy day, stuck in the rental, waiting for it to go away. Anticipate this kind of situation by planning some creative leisure activities. We've got a great range at Hopono, with stickers, glitter, embroidery, macramé and giant posters to colour in, even in the car.
But as a former primary school teacher, I'd like to make a special mention of the educational multiplication tables poster, which I love and recommend - tables are sacred!
Stationery trinkets we love
At home, I have a little 11-year-old stationery fan. I'd like to tell you that she's completely addicted to the entire Legami stationery range. It's all so cute. Have you heard of the latest gel pens with a little animal on them? They don't roll off the table and the kids are always in good company! They're a great way to bring back the handwritten postcard, which has been abandoned in favour of social networking. At least it keeps little hands busy, and grandparents will be delighted!
Games to play alone or with others
Young and old alike need something to do, a little break after lunch before getting back into the water. Memory games, games of skill... Holidays are a great time to play with your children or friends. As we play, we discover each other's temperaments, we share laughter and reflection - it's great fun! Talking of yoga again, have you heard of the game Yoga bière? It's a game you can play with friends who also love yoga... and beer (I assure you, you can change the drink).
Have you come to the shop to see our range of Smartgames? I hope so, because I really enjoyed hosting the chat! Smartgames are excellent games for playing alone. They're perfect for single children or for calming things down when you're out with friends and want to reduce the excitement. These games develop logic and spatial awareness. They are progressive and include many challenges. What's more, the IQ series is pocket-sized, ideal for the car, so you can alternate with screen time.
I'll leave you to finish packing, and see you in 15 days for new articles!
Have a great start to the summer!
